2016 Lifesaving Conference
The 2016 Lifesaving Conference is being held on Saturday, 20 August at the Life Saving Victoria State Centre. This year’s theme is ‘Healthy Members, Healthy Clubs’. The 2016 Regional Workshops will be held in the western, central and eastern areas of the state following the Lifesaving Conference on dates that are to be determined.
The Conference is LSV’s key annual event to prepare volunteers for the lifesaving season ahead. Volunteers will be provided with topical and essential information, encompassing Lifesaving Operations, Volunteer Training, Aquatic Sports and Membership & Leadership Development. The Conference provides the opportunity for LSV to demonstrate new resources that are available to clubs, as well as an opportunity for members to network with other club members from around the state.

2016 Regional Workshops
The 2016 Regional Workshops will be conducted in the Western, Central and Eastern areas of the state throughout September and October 2016 and will be free of charge. The Workshops provide clubs and members with relevant and practical skills and information, covering all areas of lifesaving. A simple outline, specific to the area, of the requirements of each club over the coming season will also be provided.
The objective of the Regional Workshop is for the sessions to build on the learning and outcomes of the Lifesaving Conference to benefit all members. The regional workshops will be region specific information, workshop format, important department information and updates and provide clubs an opportunity to ask questions on a smaller scale and directly relating to their region. The workshop sessions will be focused on practical skills and resources members can use during the lifesaving season.
LSV encourages members and club officers to attend appropriate sessions. Sessions include: 2016/17 Lifesaving Services updates, Training and Assessment Sessions, Corporate Governance, IRB Maintenance, Grant Seeking Workshops and Member Opportunity Sessions. The Workshops will be conducted at various venues throughout September and October. To book in, please click on the regional workshop:
- Western – Sunday 11 September at Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club
- Central – Sunday 18 September at Life Saving Victoria State Centre
- Eastern – Sunday, 9 October at Seaspray Surf Life Saving Club
