What are the Benefits of Learning First Aid Today?
At some point in time we have all heard the phrase ‘safety first’ and Australians should all understand that being prepared and well equipped with potentially life saving skills is the best approach to tackle any situation should an emergency arise. Medical emergencies and life threatening situations occur all the time and without warning. We are never really sure when administering first aid to a family member, friend or fellow member of society could be required. First aid training could very well save another person’s life and there are a range of other benefits and reasons why you should consider investing just a small amount of time into undertaking first aid training, which can deliver lifelong advantages.
First Aid Saves Lives
– Create a Safer Home
Understanding and being able to correctly administer first aid makes any home a much safer place. Whether you live with friends in a share house, an apartment with your husband or wife, or perhaps a property with the kids and a couple of pets, first aid training can be the difference between life and death. Should an accident occur in the home, knowing how to deal with a situation and acting quickly before an ambulance arrives is an important skill to have, in what could potentially be a life threatening situation.
– Create a Safer Workplace
Businesses both large and small should consider including first aid training as part of an employee’s induction and training. If an accident or emergency situation should occur in the workplace all employees should be able to handle a situation confidently, with care and caution, ensuring they act swiftly to prevent further injury to a victim. Providing first aid training to employees in Australia is an excellent idea for companies in all trades and industries, as it guarantees all staff members can all look out for one another, whilst also promoting safer practices in the workplace.
– Create a Safer Environment for Children
It goes without saying young children and babies in particular are far more vulnerable to accidents and certain medical conditions. Learning basic first aid can be lifesaving in emergency situations such as choking or unexpected falls which result in a bump to the head. The team here at Life Saving Victoria believe that every parent should understand basic first aid for children, allowing them to act accordingly, should an emergency situation arise.
Empowerment Through Education
First aid is a life skill and can greatly enhance your resume and job applications. Being a first aider requires key skills which all employers love: communication skills, leadership and team working. You can demonstrate these skills by learning first aid and become more employable, whilst also benefiting from knowing you can confidently administer first aid in an emergency situation at your home or workplace.
Don’t Hesitate. Set a Date!
First aid courses offered by Life Saving Victoria offer a variety of training options which differ greatly from one institution to another. You want to choose a first aid course that will give you the training needed to perform initial health care in case of a car accident, choking and other life threatening situations.
