RTO Policy RTO-PO-012 Trainers and Assessors Skills and Development outlines the PD requirements for our Trainers:
“All trainers and assessors providing a training and assessment service must participate in regular activities to ensure currency within the industry that is being delivered and assessed, and professional development in Vocational Learning and Assessment as a condition of engagement.
LSV expects that as a minimum, trainers and assessors will complete the following formal hours of industry currency and professional development (combined):
– Full time Trainers and Assessors – 30 hours per annum
– Casual & volunteer Trainers and Assessors (including Third Party Providers) – 8 hours per annum
It is expected that this PD covers not just industry currency (what you train) but also develops your skills and knowledge with relation to vocational learning and assessment (how you train) and should build on your existing qualifications in this area.”
Remember to submit your PD each time you do it and keep a record for yourself to show that you are continually improving your skills and knowledge.
