This year, we are taking Water Safety Week to the next level!
Starting 1 December, our much-anticipated Water Safety Month campaign will begin, with the aim to spread awareness and educate Victorians of the aquatic related risks this summer.
Water Safety Month is all about taking the time to:
RETHINK taking risks around water this summer.
While we encourage everyone to enjoy the water this summer, we want you to be aware of the risks for both yourself and your loved ones.
Last season, Victoria recorded its worst fatal drowning toll since, with 61 people’s lives cut short in Victorian waters. It is more important than ever that we brush up on our skills and educate people around us of the risks.

2020-21 Drowning Report out now
Each year, LSV releases the annual Drowning Report, a detailed summary of drowning incidents in Victoria. This report provides information and statistics about the people who drowned in Victorian waterways last year and the activities they were undertaking at the time.
Our condolences are with those who lost a family member, colleague, or friend.
The report will be launch on 1 Dec to mark the beginning of summer and Water Safety Month.
