Our research and consultancy services include safety across all areas of aquatics. We work together with industry, academic institutions, and government to expand the evidence base in aquatic injury prevention.
Current research is directed towards the frequency and patterns of accidental fatal and non-fatal drowning and aquatic injury in Victoria, the water competency of Victorian children, and the evaluation of various water safety campaigns and programs.
A detailed summary of drowning incidents in Victoria is produced each year. The 2014/15 Drowning Report provides details of drowning deaths, but also examines the broader picture of the problem of drowning by detailing non-fatal drowning incidents.
