Bush Nippers for schools and community groups

Bush Nippers brings the coastal Nippers experience to inland waterways — a progressive lifesaving and water safety program for children aged 5–14, designed for rivers, lakes and pools across regional and rural Victoria.

Suitable for all abilities, the program builds skills in survival swimming, rescue techniques and rescue equipment, water safety awareness and an introduction to lifesaving — wrapped in games and race activities that keep it fun. Delivered by LSV or one of our Approved Education Partners at a waterway near you.

Bush Nippers summer holiday programs

Every January, Bush Nippers holiday programs run at inland waterway locations across regional Victoria, delivered in partnership with local councils and aquatic centres. Children join their age group for a week of land- and water-based activities — survival swimming, board paddling, rescue skills and plenty of games.

A few things parents should know:

  • Participants complete a simple swimming ability check before water activities, matched to their age group — your child's swim school certificate usually covers it
  • A parent or carer must be present for the whole program
  • Rash vest and nipper cap provided; you bring bathers, hat, sunscreen and a towel

Locations for the December–January period are confirmed closer to summer. Register your interest now and we'll contact you when bookings open for a program near you.
