13/4/26
Victorian lifesavers have won a mammoth 60 medals at the 2026 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.Â
Victorian competitors won 17 gold, 23 silver and 20 bronze medals during the event held at North Kirra and Tugun beaches on the Gold Coast.Â
*Full list of medal winners below.Â
The championships, known in the lifesaving community simply as âThe Aussiesâ, are the main annual sporting competition for lifesavers and clubs across Australia.Â
More than 7,000 competitors from 316 clubs took part in about 550 beach and ocean events during the competition.Â
Lifesaving sport plays a key role in keeping volunteer lifesavers rescue-ready for the Summer Patrol Season, and is a fantastic opportunity for club members to come together and build connections with other clubs and members.  Â
Congratulations to all competitors and thank you to all who gave their time to make the event happen by taking on support and officiating roles.Â
