Bass Inter-Regional Championships

Bass Coast clubs have been flying the flag for regional sport when they hosted last weekend's Bass Inter-Regional Championships.  

The event was a club-led carnival proudly hosted by Venus Bay SLSC and Cape Paterson SLSC, and designed to foster participation, connection and a genuine give-it-a-go spirit. This event showcased the best of local lifesaving sport. 

The carnival delivered a simple, fast-moving program that supported intergenerational participation across Youth, Senior and Masters.  

Congratulations to Venus Bay SLSC who claimed the victory, reflecting their strong participation across all age categories.  

Highlights from the day included the mixed team events and Cape Paterson SLSC’s home-beach athletes Terry and Stella claiming line honours in the concluding Iron events. 

A huge thank you to the local volunteers who made the day possible — with officials, safety coordination and water safety all delivered by the region. An example of sport delivered by the region, for the region. 

The event was proudly supported by the LSV Gippsland Sporting Hub, backed by the Victorian Government through the Strengthening Regional Community Sport Program, supporting inclusive and sustainable lifesaving sport across the Gippsland and Bass regional areas.
