National Aquatic Infrastructure Symposium to shape the future of community pools

Life Saving Victoria welcomes the announcement of the National Aquatic Infrastructure Symposium 2026, a key industry event that will bring together leaders from across Australia to explore the future of aquatic facility planning, investment and community access.
With many public aquatic facilities approaching the end of their operational lifespan and growing communities placing increased demand on existing infrastructure, the symposium will provide an important forum to discuss how Australia can continue to deliver safe, accessible and sustainable aquatic facilities for future generations.
For Victoria's aquatic industry, these conversations are particularly relevant. Community pools play a critical role in drowning prevention, water safety education, physical activity, community connection and emergency resilience. Ensuring facilities remain fit for purpose is essential to supporting growing participation in aquatic recreation and learn-to-swim programs across the state.
Hosted by Royal Life Saving Australia
The symposium will bring together industry leaders, local government representatives, planners, architects, researchers and policymakers to examine the challenges and opportunities facing public aquatic infrastructure.
LSV looks forward to contributing to the national conversation and continuing to support Victorian aquatic facilities through industry engagement, advocacy, professional development and evidence-based initiatives that help create safer and more sustainable aquatic environments.
