Victorian Public Pools State of the Sector Report 2022-23

State of the Sector Report 2022/23
Swimming pool managers, whom have not received the State of the Sector report, can soon expect a hard copy, as LSV has mailed a copy to each aquatic facility in Victoria.
Last month LSV and Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) launched the annual State of the Sector Report 2022/23, as part of water safety month. The report and the collaboration between LSV and ARV have the purpose of delivering a document which supports a more comprehension insight into the aquatics industry, including its impact, value, outcomes, and key activities, projects, research and developments.
It is undeniable that the initial months of 2021-2022 were a difficult period for the industry, and many facilities and organisations are still feeling the repercussions of the lockdowns. The efforts to repair the damage wrought by this period affected everyone from facility operators and administrators, swim instructors, lifeguards, to the people of Victoria who rely on these important venues for educational, employment, and leisure activities.
Whilst acknowledging the impact of COVID-19, the report highlights the importance and value of a healthy public pool sector and broader aquatic industry. Building on the legacy of independent state of industry reports, the publication provides a broad snapshot of the industry, enabling better tracking and comparison of key metrics, and acts as a true source of information, enabling improved analysis, evaluation and more informed decision making.
The report includes review and analysis of:
- Industry insights.
- An overview of the industry’s size, scope and value.
- Analysis of industry safety performance and trends.
- An overview of sector projects, research and new initiatives.
- Details of key industry award and event winners.
- Insights into trends in public pool use by customers.
- Highlight the impacts of COVID-19 on the industry and community.
- New facilities developments.
- Industry profiles.
Managers of swimming pools that have not been provided with a copy of the State of the Sector report, can expect to receive a version in the mail in the coming days.
