He has been a Company Director in this industry since 2002. Paul was initially involved in Surf Lifesaving as a junior member in Cape Town, South Africa, where he grew up. Over the last 11 years, he has been an active patrolling member of the Venus Bay Surf Life Saving Club. Since joining the Venus Bay SLSC, Paul has held the role of Committee Member for a year, Secretary for 2 years and Club President for 3 years. During his tenure on the Venus Bay SLSC Club Executive, the club won the Victorian Life Saving Club of the Year Award on three occasions and Australian Life Saving Club of the Year once. In addition, Paul competes in Lifesaving Masters events and he is a drone pilot with the LSV RPAS Service. Outside of lifesaving, Paul is a marathon swimming enthusiast having completed numerous marathon swims internationally and locally (including a solo English Channel crossing). He is a junior basketball coach at domestic and representative level and he is an active member of his local State Emergency Service.
