As part of his role, Paul manages community and government partnerships, which include chairing the Play it Safe by The Water committee and other community issue-based working groups.

He represents Life Saving Victoria in the government realm where he is an active member of the Victorian Water Safety Coordination Forum, and he has consulted for Emergency Management Victoria in the development of the state’s first government owned water safety strategy. 

He is a life member of Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club where he remains actively involved.
